Jason Jordan Segel (born 18 January, 1980), is an American television and film actor. He is best known for his role as Nick Andopolis on the short-lived NBC series Freaks and Geeks. His major film appearances include Slackers, SLC Punk!, and Dead Man on Campus.

Segel was born in Los Angeles, California. He was a gifted basketball player in high school and plays the piano. Segel dated former Freaks and Geeks co-star Linda Cardellini for a number of years, but they have since broken up.

He is one of the stars of the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which debuted on September 19, 2005.
