James Shigeta

James Shigeta (born June 17 1933) is an American film and television actor.
Born in Hawaii of Japanese ancestry, Shigeta studied at New York University but went into show business after winning first prize on Ted Mack's television talent show, Original Amateur Hour. He is best known for his leading role opposite Nancy Kwan in the 1961 film version of the Broadway musical, Flower Drum Song.
