In the science fiction series Stargate SG-1, Col. Harry Maybourne is a USAF officer and rogue NID agent with complex morals and loyalties. He is played by the actor Tom McBeath. Maybourne was a pivotal member of the NID, and often found himself in conflict with SG-1. Initially, he is a character who is thoroughly disgusting, but this later softens and he becomes an important source of comic relief.
As a member of the NID, Maybourne lead several rogue NID operations. He was eventually caught running an illegal off-world operation, which was responsible for stealing technology from Earth's allies.
His military career finished, Maybourne fled to Russia, where he leaked critical information which aided the Russian Stargate Program. Later caught, he was convicted of treason and placed on death row.
He agreed to aid O'Neill after General Hammond had been blackmailed. Together, they learned that Senator Robert Kinsey was heavily involved with rogue NID operations. Jack was able to use this information to get Hammond reinstated. In light of this information, Maybourne also had himself transferred to a nicer facility, from which he promptly escaped.
Maybourne tricked SG-1 into taking him offworld. He convinced them he could deliver powerful weapons, in exchange for a Presidential pardon. He was secretly searching for a Utopian paradise, which turned out to have been destroyed long ago by the Goa'uld. Maybourne and Jack were eventually rescued by the Tok'ra with the help of Major Carter.

Harry Maybourne was exiled by the Tok'ra to a far off planet. Two years passed before SG-1 was sent to recover Maybourne, to prevent him falling into the hands of the System Lord Ares. They discovered he had deciphered some Ancient writing, which apparently pertained to the future. He had used this information to mislead the local population into believing he was a prophet, and became their new king, King Arkhan I. He also used his technological expertise to improve the standard of life for his people. When the truth about the source of his knowledge was finally revealed, they chose to overlook the deception.
When SG-1 returned to Earth, Harry decided to stay with the people that he had grown to love, the bad blood between him and SG-1 finally laid to rest.
