Gael Ortega is a fictional character played by Jesse Borrego on the television series, 24.

Works at the Counter Terrorist Unit; along with Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida, he set up a sting operation to buy a deadly virus off the market through the Salazars. He personally tried to stop the virus device from going off in a hotel, but couldn't reach in time and the virus blew up in his face. Gael was the first to die from it. Later, as his wife went to get his things, she learned Saunders was behind the virus and killed him.

Millions of 24 fans thought that Gael was a mole in CTU working for the Salazars, until one episode, where it was revealed that he was involved in a plot with Jack and Tony. Gael had to kidnap Kim Bauer, as she suspected him of being a mole, and he was not allowed to disclose to anyone the plot he, Bauer and Almeida had concocted.

Gael only appears in season three, but is suspected to make an appearence in the PS2 game.
