She is Stargate Command's new chief medical officer and seemingly the first permanent one since the death of Dr. Janet Fraiser in 2004. She is also the daughter of the SGC's new commanding officer Major General Hank Landry.
Prior to joining Stargate Command, she worked with the Centers for Disease Control; her specialty is infectious diseases.
Trivia
Lexa Doig is the real-life wife of Michael Shanks who portrays Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1. They met while shooting for Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, a first season episode in which Shanks portrayed the A.I. of a vessel known as the Balance Of Judgement, who was the doomed love-interest of Doig's A.I. character, "Rommie." Shanks reprised this role again in a third season episode.
