Amanda Joy Michalka, better known as AJ Michalka (born on April 10, 1991, in Torrance, California) is an American actress and singer. Since then both her and her sister, Alyson Michalka, have lived in Seattle where they grew up; they moved there in 1992. There her parents made sure they were exposed to all varieties of music. Aly and AJ is the name of their singing partnership. When she was younger, she was in a number of WORD Music productions at her church in southern California.

Career

AJ and Aly got into music at a young age. They first sang to entertain their friends and family. AJ was nine when she started to study acting. She started out with a lead role with a church musical, Jailhouse Rock. She then worked as a model, appearing in store posters and on magazine covers.
