Amanda Laura Bynes (born April 3, 1986 in Thousand Oaks, California) is an actress and former show host on the Nickelodeon TV channel.

Acting career
She started acting at the age of 7, filming a TV advertisement for Bunch a Crunch candies. She got her start as a regular cast member of the All That show, and later she became the star of The Amanda Show. She has gradually begun to move into the world of movies. Some of her notable films include Big Fat Liar (2002), her first major part in a film, and What a Girl Wants (2003), her first film as a lead actress. She is now one of the stars of the WB Network's sitcom "What I Like About You". She was trained as an actress by Arsenio Hall and Richard Pryor at a comedy camp.
Personal life
Bynes was born to Richard Bynes (a dentist) and Lynn Organ (a dental assistant). Her father is Catholic and her mother is Jewish. Her brother, Tommy, is a chiropractor and her sister Jillian is in college, where she will soon complete a degree in psychology.
Besides acting, the 5'8" Bynes's interests include fashion design and drawing (she once painted a portrait of David Letterman as a gift to him), being a make-up assistant and hair stylist. She also loves to dance.
Bynes recently moved into an apartment in Hollywood, California. She lives alone with her dog, named Midge. She drives a white Lexus 430. She loves New York City and wants to attend New York University in the very near future.
